I was thinking I'd do okay on that one, but was surprised to see the results. You try it and let me know how you do.

Jeremiah's American Accent

My friend, blogging maven Angie Lee, recently posted the results of a quiz that she took on gotoquiz.com. Here are my result for the same quiz:
What American accent do you have?
Your Result:
The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

The West

The Inland North

Boston

North Central

The Northeast

Philadelphia

The South

Recap

No, we have not fallen off the face of the earth. We've just been really busy and enjoying time with family from out of town. Early in the month Jeremiah's mom came and then my parents came. It was great having everybody here and great that it worked out around Anthony's baptism. We had lots of fun playing, getting spoiled, visiting, and did I mention getting spoiled?
After two weeks of Grandmas and Grandpa it was hard to get back into our usual boring routine.

Anthony's baptism was a wonderful event. It was great to have all the family members participate. Michaela lead the music and sang a musical number, Natalie, even though she was scared gave the opening prayer, Grandpa Roy gave a talk on baptism, Grandma Vicki gave a talk on the Holy Ghost, Trevor sang "I Am A Child Of God" for a musical number, Grandma Cindy gave the closing prayer, and Abigail pretty much ran around the room.

All of us!

With not very nice weather and keeping up with the kids school and homework, we pretty much stayed close to home and played.

When Grandpa was reading his own book the kids would grab a book and do some reading too!

Grandma Cindy got the job of labeling all 27 hats that Natalie took into her Kindergarten class for their hat collection.

Anthony and Grandpa spent lots of time on the floor building with legos.

So, we had a great visit with our family and it was hard to say goodbye, especially when there are no summer travel plans this year. Thank goodness for modern technology that makes it easier to keep in touch! It's not the same as a visit but it's better than nothing!

At the dealership... again

So, here we are at Colonial Dodge. Again.

I only came out here today after verifying several times that all the pertinent parts were on site. Yes, the sales rep, Brendan, who had promised to keep me posted, did not call me to let me know the parts were in. I only found out when I became so exasperated that I called up and spoke with the parts department myself.

"Oh, sure--they've been in for several days."

I guess that Brendan doesn't need to sweat the customer service aspect of his job with Daddy as the manager of the dealership.

Anyway, we're trying to remain positive.

Oh, I should clarify the "we" that I've been using so far--Trevor is here with me. I'm going to try to use him as incentive to get out of here a little sooner. He's been pretty good so far, which isn't helping. I guess I should have kept him up later last night...

or just brought Anthony. He was on one this morning after being up until ten o'clock last night. He kept getting out of bed with different updates for us about his toenails and leg muscles.

Anyway, Trevor loves all the cars here at the dealership. Today there's even a bonus: purple motorcycle!

Anthony's Birthday

Monday was the big day. We've had one very excited boy at our house as he has counted down the days until his 8th birthday. Anthony was quick to remind me that since it was his birthday he didn't have to do his chores. He then felt a little bad (only for a moment) when he realized that I would be doing his chores instead. It's the thought that counts, right?

He had a good day and even though his birthday is over he now has the excitement of Grandma Vicki, Grandma Cindy, and Grandpa Roy coming into town for his baptism next week.

It's hard to tell who had more fun. Anthony opening his presents or the kids handing out what they had bought for him.
