Snowy Sunday

After a week of storms with two days of later start for the kids and one day of early dismissal for the kids we spent the day at home to watch the snow and ice come down.

I knew it was a big storm coming in when church was cancelled the night before.  Usually we get a phone call that morning.  So, we enjoyed a leisurly breakfast, had our own little primary, played with paint, and made some cookies.

After Jeremiah ended up getting stranded at school overnight during our last storm a few days ago it was nice to have everybody safe at home while the snow was coming down.

The kids are aching to go outside and play.  I think they are afraid that the snow is going to be gone tomorrow.  With about sixteen inches total from the two storms, I have a feeling the snow will be around for awhile!

Wow! We were supposed to get some of that, but it all came to you instead. Oh, how I was hoping we'd get a day off of church . . .

Wow I'm cold just reading this. No snow predicted in Texas anytime soon, but we'll probably get some ice. Who knows?! Texas winters are never the same year to year or day to day. One day it's a sunny 80 the next it's 40 with rain.

NO WAY! Church was cancelled the night before? That is big. I can't believe Jeremiah got stranded at school, either. So, inquiring minds want to know...where does one sleep when stranded at school? And with how many other students? Does this mean school gets to be extended for the kids?

We had a "Rainy Monday" but I don't think it compares to your "Snowy Sunday!" Nothing got cancelled today, except the dinner for 9 that I worked on all day and then the 7 guests (1 family) got lost trying to find our house and then their kids fell asleep and then they didn't come....hmmmm
love all you Massachusettites(?)

Angie,

It would seem that one doesn't really sleep at school because Jeremiah came home the next morning and went to bed! Most of the students at the University live on campus so they didn't have a problem getting home.

So far my children have had 3 snow days and we've only just begun with the winter season! So, yes it looks like they will have extra days of school added onto the end of the school year.

Our total snowfall from these last two storms was 20 inches with about 2 inches of ice on top of that. Have you ever wondered where they put all the snow from the freeways and highways? We were driving around yesterday and it just dawned on me that it has to go somewhere. The snow around our house will have to go somewhere else if we get much more before it has a chance to melt!
