For the first time in my thirteen years of married life I now have a dishwasher!It has only been around six days and I already don't know how I survived with out it! I did have to sacrifice a big cupboard and a large section of counter space but it was so worth it! The kids are so sure that now that we have a dishwasher I will automatically have all this extra time to play with them. Guess I better make sure I use my time wisely and play more with my kids!

Wow 13 years!! I had a hard time going without for 2 years and 1 kid! The dishwasher is a wonderful thing. Congratulations!

hurray! ok i can see how you lost the big cubbord since that is where the dishwasher is but how did you lost the counter?
Tamara, you should still have the counter space... is there a microwave there? I can't even pretend I know what it is like to do all those dishes for thirteen years...That is a very special friend, unles you forget to turn it on ;-) Plus someone else can always put dishes in the dishwasher, it is not that hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, so we still have the counter right over where they installed the dishwasher but we had a "L" shaped counter that started next to the sink and wrapped around the corner under the window. It was a big counter area with a huge cupboard under it. They ripped out the whole counter and cupboard and just put in a little section next to the sink. We had to move things around to find homes for the stuff we kept in the one big cupboard in the kitchen. It has been an adjustment to only have a very small section of counter but so far it is worth it!
Oh my goodness! This is your first dishwasher???? Man. I'm glad for you.
